Roeland Westra is Project Leader for Sustainability at FIRDA, the regional vocational education college serving Friesland and Groningen. He leads FIRDA's sustainability programme — integrating the energy transition, circular economy, and hydrogen technology into hands-on vocational education. His work has earned him recognition as a Local Hero by the municipality of Leeuwarden, awarded to those who make an outstanding daily contribution to a more sustainable world. Roeland is also an active contributor to Centrum Duurzaam Friesland.
